The most important
activity of this class is planning, preparing for, and a operating a “restaurant” for the staff of
Coral Gables Senior High. During the first nine weeks, intensive teaching/learning is done. In the second
nine weeks, the
restaurant opens and practice begins. Students serve once or twice a week, so the students feels comfortable with
the skills needed. Students plan menus, order supplies, and rotate jobs preparing
food and beverages, setting, bussing and waiting tables, seating customers, handling the cash register,
washing dishes, etc.
