•Band one is for beginning students wishing to learn how to play a wind or brass instrument. The class will cover basic
as well as proper breathing, tone production, and all elements to perform on an instrument.
•For experienced players to learn and perform various styles of jazz literature.
This is a
performing group, which requires the students to participate in various school and community functions. Jazz band students will be required to be enrolled in the symphonic band and complete all the requirements of the symphonic band as well
as jazz band.
•This is for the band student that already knows how to play their instrument. In addition to being part of the Band of Distinction (Marching Band), this band will perform on its own for concerts as well as the Florida Bandmasters Association solo and ensemble evaluation. This band requires a band fee, band camp, and after school rehearsals.
•The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop proficient technical skills on wind or percussion instruments through the refinement and performance of high school band literature. Emphasis will be placed on the development of skills in interpretation of notation and expressive markings, individual and ensemble performance, and critical listening.
