The 39th Annual South Florida Journalism Day was held this past Saturday, October 22 at FIU South Campus. Middle and high school students from all over Miami Dade County Public and Private Schools were in attendance. Approximately 75 students represented Coral Gables Sr. High from newspaper, yearbook, literary magazine, and TV production.

Congratulations to our TV Production Gables Live students and their Adviser, Ms. Muñoz, for earning 3rd place in Carry-In News
Program Competition at J-Day. Also, Ms. Betances, our Literary Magazine Catharsis Adviser was nominated for District 6 Teacher of the Year.

It is with pride and privilege I announce our Drill and Color Guard Team results this past weekend at Jackson Senior High School. The event was very competitive (over nineteen schools) and again very wet. 

 

Color Guard:

Regulation Unarmed Squad:
            Male: 3rd Place
Regulation Armed Squad
                 Female: 5th Place
Regulation Armed Platoon:

cATHARSIS is a FINALIST!

Catharsis, the school’s award-winning Literary Magazine, is a Finalist in the National Scholastic Press Association’s Design of the Year Competition. This means that our literary magazine has a double-page spread design that ranks in the top 5 of the nation. Congratulations to Ms. Betances and her staff members.
