The narratives in the streaming audio file presented here are derived from the Smithsonian Press tape collection of slave interviews done in the 1930s and 1940s by the WPA, among others, in the book Remembering Slavery.  The audio has been edited to create one file lasting approximately twenty minutes.  For more information on slave narratives, visit the sites listed below.
